How can I encourage customers to open my payment links?
Find out how branding and clear communication can help customers recognise and trust your payment links
Customers may be less likely to open a payment link if they were not expecting it or do not recognise the sender. Clear communication and consistent branding can help improve payment-link open and completion rates.
Tips for improving payment-link open rates
- Tell the customer that you are about to send a payment link and explain what the payment is for.
- Use a clear email subject line or message that includes your business name.
- Customise your Hosted Payment Page by adding your logo and business branding.
- Customise the order-confirmation and payment emails sent from Cashflows Portal so customers can recognise your business.
- Check that the customer’s email address or mobile number is correct before sending the link.
- Avoid sending duplicate links unless the customer asks you to resend one.
- Ask the customer to check their junk or spam folder if the email has not arrived.
Important: Only send payment links using the approved Cashflows payment-link process. Never ask customers to send card details by email, text message or another messaging service.
